![]() ![]() In life you experience different things and at some point they come together to impact my work. What is the most memorable event you’ve produced? Where did you get the idea and inspiration for that event?Įach event is different and tells a story. You are known for extraordinary and out-of-the-box events. LSE prides itself on original, one-of-a-kind parties and we achieve that by being different.ģ. I like to set the trends and lead, and not worry about what others may think. The challenge is staying current and not waiting for people to say it is okay to do something. My idea was to be the original, not the franchise that follows the original. I always wanted to be different and not follow the crowd. What is the biggest challenge you have overcome professionally? How has that impacted the way you work today? My parents had luncheonettes around Manhattan, and I was inspired to study restaurants and hotels, then went into catering and design work-I wanted everything to come together.Ģ. He also produces a glittering array of private soirées. Past events Larry has produced and clients/causes he continues to support include Make-A-Wish’s annual Night of Wishes gala, which he has supported for 26 years, UJA-Federation’s Summerfest concert and cocktail party, Northwell Health’s Summer Concert Series and Hamptons Magazine’s annual summer kickoff party. Philanthropy is a cornerstone of Larry’s business and LSE supports over 30 charities annually. LSE has since grown to offer events all over the tri-state area and the east end, with high profile clients such as Michael Bolton, Judge Judy, Donald Trump, Howard Stern, Vera Wang, and John Varvatos. Larry instantly gained a reputation for his exceptional, one-of-a-kind celebrations. Later that same year, he established Lawrence Scott Events out of his love for hospitality and eye for design and detail. This week, Clara speaks with events planner extraordinaire Larry Scott of Lawrence Scott Events (LSE) who, aside from producing unforgettable parties for the A-listers, also volunteers his services and expertise to a long list of charities, including Make–A–Wish, the Feinstein Institute, Live Out Loud, Forward Face, City of Hope, and MS, to name a few.Ī native New Yorker, Larry started his career in catering before opening one of Long Island’s most successful restaurants, Larry and The Redhead, in 1989.
